Sad but True.
Sad but True, I don't have a lot of trust to Libyan doctors any more. I don't want to sound unfair, I know that there are hardworking, their job loving, honest and kind doctors out there. But what I have seen and heard has shown me that there are no more a lot of them in the Libyan hospitals.
Let's speak openly, there are thousands of students in the medical faculty alone in Tripoli, and there are ten thousands of already graduated doctors working in the hospitals and in clinics in Tripoli. Out of this statistics, there should be some of them more than excellent, some of them very good, some good, some normal and only a few that are not good enough, but the actual case is that the majority is normal and not good enough. I am here not speaking only about the medical knowledge, in a doctor this is not enough, important is the fear of God in their work, and their behavior.
What is happening there? Why aren't there perfect clean hospitals, with kind and good nurses, and very good doctors? Every one there is complaining about the conditions there, but almost everyone has a doctor in his family, but no one is thinking of making a change, they follow the wave, why is it possible for the same doctors to work perfectly, following the rules, coming on time and without being rude in foreign countries?
We are Muslims, we have to fear God in everything we do, mainly in dealing with people and working for people, isn't it a shame that you hear a Libyan doctor saying about another doctor that he is " 7mar " because he had another opinion? Isn't it a shame when you see how many Libyans are going abroad to see other doctors starting with Tunis?

I recommend u to read these 3 posts for UT, she isn't a doctor, but she put her fingers on this problem in astonishingly perfect way, as if she lived in the hospitals with us for years.

Thank you enlightened spirit for these interesting links to UT's blog, i found the whole blog very interesting, and it was my first visit there. But do you think that words can satisfy any of our inquiries? Do you think that it is enough to speak about such problems once or twice? Or do we have to repeat them on and on until one day a difference is seen?
And dear butterfly, i know what you mean by speaking about the nurses. It is painfull to see how some people get treated in the hospitals just because they know no one or they are just poor and regular people.
I was alot thinking about this topic, until i asked my self one question. I am a mom of one boy, would i feel safe going with him to a doctor there? Actually he got sick there, and when i went with him to a doc, she told that the rash he was having was just from insects, i don't have to worry about him, while when i went back to Canada the doc told me that he is having an allergy? She didn't take the time to examin him good. So should i feel worried next time i go with him to place?

I think Libyan doctors should get their training with this organization before they practice Medicine in Libya.

Hi there Libyan !
Cool Blog .
First time for me to visit . As for Enlightened Spirit, I truly thank you for your kind words. I am honored.
I have taught many Libyan doctors thats how I know , what pain you go through. What we are in need of is Public Awareness Programmes more than anyhting else. When we change our people's attitude towards nursing ,and Libyan Doctors ,it will be all for the better.
The Libyan doctors do so well abroad and considered 7mars ( sorry ) here in their own country is a misguided deal.
Getting a second opinion or a diagnosis from Tunis is the only option available not due to Libyan doctors being incompetent but in not being organised as they are all self dependable, dont work together to benifit one another ,but are looking at the business side (especially the older specialised doctors)of the deal more than humanity. This will never work in any given time or place.
May Allah bless and protect you always.
Safeer el salam, you are right about Allah helping us, but we have to do our best so that he helps us.
Musiclover, very interesting video about the organization.
And UT welcome to my blog, i don't think that i should add a lot to your words, i just wanted to say that i have a lot of docotrs around me. All of them have this hope to go back to libya and help there. But as soon as they get there, they get a reality shock, it is a complete different system to what they are used to, some of them just go with the motion some of them try to make a difference, but this is a long fight. In Addition to that, the attitude of other ones who had never left Libya is sometimes to welcoming towards the ones coming from abroad, i know about one case where one of this coming home doctors went with his relative to the hospital, i knew what she has and he wanted certain tests to be made, he had experience, but as soon as they have heard that he is a doc coming from abroad they blocked themselves. And they were not really polite to him. So even if you want to be good, some others will not allow it, because jealousy is everywhere there.
My dear doctor,
All we can really do is help where we can and not expect miracles.
As I have said before , even though we have doctors and other professional people in major fields we are missing out on one thing, ie the love of ones nation and its people (patriotism). You will be amazed at how many of our beloved people having supposedly a great insight in our religion ,but alas sad to say a great hatred towards any advancement of any sort for the love of their country or its people!:(
Yet ,we must take it a step at a time, and not let anything discourage us, and go home and try to do our best in communicating what we have learnt to our people. We have to start some place, yes ?
Peace
I totaly agree with ut,we don't accept mericals to change it, we have to make that change,we have to struggle to make it happend,Libya in very har time, every one thinking just to his/her sake, not for others.
What is 7mar? I'm not too familiar with arabic terms.
"I totaly agree with ut,we don't accept mericals to change it, we have to make that change,we have to struggle to make it happend,Libya in very har time, every one thinking just to his/her sake, not for others."
i def agree with this statement. First we must expose this, be vocal about it and really work to change it.

HOSPITAL NURSING TECNISHIN NO THING
hello
i want to clear some point her
first fo all we have to discuess the root of this problem , it start from libyian educational system. second their are a lot of incapable person in leader postion in high institution , university and hospital , beside that their are some of idiot they are the head of department like in Al fateh medicine university.
the point is their is some deficite from doctors , but the problem more deep than that , the problem is no sufficent training for doctors , unqualified spicicalist (old mentility),unqualified nurses and poor managment(adminstration).
morever their are alot of libyian doctor in UK ,canada and USA. they are working very will and some of them head of department.
so,,,,,,,the problem is the MANAGEMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
